On 20 April 2026, the following Regulation and Directives were published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJ).
These items relate to the European Commission’s review of the EU bank crisis management and deposit insurance framework:
- Regulation (EU) 2026/808 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 March 2026 amending Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 as regards early intervention measures, conditions for resolution and funding of resolution action. The Regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the OJ (10 May 2026). It shall apply (with some exceptions) from 11 May 2028.
- Directive (EU) 2026/806 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 March 2026 amending Directive 2014/59/EU as regards early intervention measures, conditions for resolution and funding of resolution action and Directive 2014/24/EU as regards valuation services in resolution. The Directive enters into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the OJ (10 May 2026). Article 1, point (65), shall apply from 11 May 2026 and Article 1, points (44)(b) and (c), shall apply from 12 May 2028.
- Directive (EU) 2026/804 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 March 2026 amending Directive 2014/49/EU as regards the scope of deposit protection, the use of deposit guarantee schemes funds, cross-border cooperation, and transparency. The Directive enters into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the OJ (10 May 2026).
