On 20 May 2026, the European Commission (Commission) issued a public consultation on the review of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The deadline for comments on the consultation was 31 August 2026. On 29 June 2026, the Commission announced on its Finance News Hub that it was extending the deadline for responding to the consultation to 30 September 2026.
