On 16 March 2026, the EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) issued its reporting package for its data collection and testing exercise.
The exercise will test and calibrate AMLA’s risk assessment models to inform the selection, taking place in 2027, of up to 40 entities for AMLA’s direct supervision starting in 2028, and to ensure that money laundering risks of credit and financial institutions are assessed consistently by supervisors across the EU.
Participating entities are requested to submit their data by 22 April 2026.
The AMLA will not be issuing an entity-specific score, rating or benchmarking output from this exercise. The exercise is methodological, not a supervisory assessment of individual entities. Targeted follow-up may occur during the review phase including requests for clarification and checks on data points.
