On 29 September 2025, the European Banking Authority (EBA) announced the launch of its 2025 EU-wide Transparency Exercise (Exercise), with the aim to enhance transparency and market discipline in the EU financial system.

The Exercise will disclose data from over 100 major EU banks covering capital positions, financial and sovereign exposures, asset quality and risk metrics, complementing Pillar 3 disclosures under the EU Capital Requirements Directive IV.

For the first time, the EBA will also offer interactive tools to allow users to explore and compare data across time, countries and individual banks.

The data will cover the period from Q3 2024 to Q2 2025, with final results being released in early December 2025 alongside the EBA’s Risk Assessment Report.
