On 14 July 2025, there was published in the Official Journal of the EU, Regulation (EU) 2025/1355 of the European Central Bank of 2 July 2025 on oversight requirements for systemically important payment systems (ECB/2025/22) (recast). The Regulation sets out the process and criteria for the identification of a payment system as a Eurosystem systemically important payment system (SIPS) and imposes oversight requirements on SIPS operators. The Regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (3 August 2025).
