The Basel Committee of the Bank for International Settlements, a group of the world’s banking regulators, develops international banking standards.  The Basel Committee has finalized templates for public disclosure of a bank’s compliance with its risk-based capital requirements.

Kathleen A. Scott wrote a recent column in the New York Law Journal that discusses these new requirements and how they should make it easier for users of the information to understand a bank’s compliance and to be able to make effective compliance comparisons among various banks.
