Norton Rose Fulbright New York office’s next 40-minute financial services briefing is set for Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 12:00 noon EST. Each month, Norton Rose Fulbright’s senior practitioners will provide interested in-house counsel and professionals with an insightful discussion on current regulatory trends within the financial services sector.

The briefings will stick strictly to a 40-minute format, over a provided lunch, and begin at 12:00 PM sharp.

The February briefing will focus on the new Department of Labor (DOL) Fiduciary Rule in an era of deregulation. Even though the rule is not yet effective, it already has caused major financial services groups to restructure their brokerage businesses. However, the rule may never be implemented because of a stated commitment by the new Trump Administration and Republican-controlled Congress to deregulation of certain financial services.

Topics will include:

  • How will the Fiduciary Rule work?
  • Will it be implemented?
  • What are the implications of deregulation in financial services?

Speaker:

Steven Howard, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright
