On 21 November 2016, the Dutch Minister of Finance (the Minister) sent a letter to the Dutch Parliament containing answers to questions that were raised by the Parliamentary Committee of Finance, relating to the regulatory budget of the Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten, the AFM) and the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank, DNB).
In his letter, the Minister addresses a number of topics relating to the regulatory budget of the AFM and DNB for the period 2017 – 2020. These topics include, but are not limited to:
- the targets of the AFM and DNB;
- the proposed temporary workforce (flexiblele schil) that can be used to address planned and unplanned new responsibilities;
- the organisational developments of both regulatory authorities; and
- the salaries of the AFM’s and DNB’s employees.
