As of 1 January 2022 it is expected that all managers of alternative investment funds which have registered for the AFM ‘light’ regime (Light AIFMs) will need to submit their AIFMD reports to the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten, the AFM) instead of the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank).
Light AIFMs will need to create an account on the AFM’s Digital Portal providing them with access to the reporting section. The AFM calls on all Light AIFMs to create an account as soon as possible to prevent delays in reporting. The first AIFMD report that will need to be submitted via the AFM’s Digital Portal covers the year 2021.
