On 2 June 2016, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten, the AFM) announced the changes that it has made to the Further Regulation on Conduct of Business Supervision of Financial Undertakings (Nadere regeling gedragstoezicht financiële ondernemingen Wft, the Further Regulation). The changes will enter into force on 1 July 2016 and concern three topics:

  • changes to the rules on how exemption notices, credit warnings and risk indicators should be included in digital media;
  • risks indicators in marketing material on participation rights in collective investment vehicles should no longer contain a risk score; and
  • life insurers will need to activate or inform their clients with unit-linked insurances before 31 December 2017.
