The European Parliament has announced that it had rejected the European Commission’s proposed Delegated Regulation supplementing the Regulation on key information documents (KID) for packaged retail and insurance-based investment products (PRIIPs) with regard to regulatory technical standards (RTS) on the presentation, content, review and revision of KIDs. The European Parliament explained that the proposed RTS, which investment products must meet to provide greater transparency and clarity to investors are inadequate. The European Commission will now have to propose new RTS for implementing the PRIIPs KID Regulation, which is due to apply from 31 December 2016.
