The European Commission has published a document setting out its agenda and timetable for the legislative proposals and non-legislative acts under its 2016 work programme that it expects to adopt. Among other things, the initiatives listed include the following:

  • a legislative proposal for amendments to the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) to incorporate modifications to the Basel framework and findings from reviews required under CRR, expected in November 2016;
  • a regulation on the recovery and resolution of central counterparties expected in November 2016;
  • a White Paper on the revision of the financing model for the European Supervisory Authorities expected in the fourth quarter of 2016; and
  • an initiative on an EU personal pension framework expected in the fourth quarter of 2017.
