The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has published a consultation report on the good practices for termination of investment funds.

The purpose of the consultation report is to obtain feedback from stakeholders on a proposed set of good practices on the voluntary termination process for collective investment schemes and other fund structures such as commodity, real estate and hedge funds.

The good practices for the termination of investment funds on which IOSCO is consulting in the report are categorised under the following headings:

  • disclosure at time of investment;
  • decision to terminate;
  • decision to merge;
  • during the termination process; and
  • specific types of investment funds.

The consultation deadline is 17 October 2016.
