On 22 October 2025, the European Parliament rejected the negotiating mandate proposed by the Legal Affairs Committee on the European Commission’s Omnibus proposal to reduce the scope of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
Following the rejection and in line with Rule 72(3) of the European Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, MEPs will vote on amendments to the file at the upcoming plenary session in Brussels on 13 November 2025. They will then be ready to start talks with the Council, which already adopted its position on 23 June 2025. The aim is to finalise the legislation by the end of 2025.
