Over the past couple of years the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has been investigating the sale of private motor insurance (PMI).
The CMA has concluded that elements of the PMI market are uncompetitive and have detrimental effects on consumers. As a result, the CMA has produced the ‘Private Motor Insurance Market Investigation Order’. We consider the content of the Order and its implications for both PMI providers and Price Comparison Websites (PCWs).
