On 21 March 2014, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) issued a consultation paper on draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) under the revised Transparency Directive (TD) relating to the notification of major shareholdings and the indicative list of financial instruments subject to notification requirements. The consultation closed on 30 May 2014. In September 2014 ESMA published its final report which contained a summary of the feedback received to the consultation as well as the changes to the draft RTS and the indicative list which ESMA proposed based on the feedback. The final report was then submitted to the European Commission which had three months to decide whether or not to endorse the draft RTS. The Commission subsequently endorsed the draft RTS which have now been published in the Official Journal of the EU as a Commission Delegated Regulation.
