On 26 November 2024, the Collective Investment Schemes (Temporary Recognition) and Central Counterparties (Transitional Provision) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 came into force and were published on legislation.gov.uk, along with an explanatory memorandum.
The Regulations set out provisions to:
- Support the operationalisation of the Government’s first equivalence decision (which relates to the EEA states) under the Overseas Funds Regime.
- Amend the Central Counterparties (Amendment, etc., and Transitional Provision) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 in relation to the temporary recognition scheme for overseas central counterparties.
These provisions are explained further in our previous blog concerning the draft version of the Regulations.
