The Central Securities Depositories Regulations 2014 (the Regulations) have been published on the legislation.gov.uk website.

The Regulations implement in part the EU Regulation on improving securities settlement in the EU and on central securities depositories (the CSD Regulation). The CSD Regulation aims to harmonise the timing and conduct of securities settlement in Europe and the rules governing central securities depositories which operate the infrastructures enabling settlement.

The Regulations makes certain amendments to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Qualifying EU Provisions) Order 2013 to provide for the enforcement of the CSD Regulation and for sanctions.
