The Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (Commencement No 5) Order 2014 (the Order) was published on legislation.gov.uk website. The Order was made on 9 July 2014.

The Order brings into force certain provisions in the Financial Services (Banking Reform) Act 2013 (Banking Reform Act) relating to the senior managers and the certification regime. The Order specifies that on 25 July 2014:

  • sections 19, 27, 28 and 33 will come into force for all purposes;
  • sections 18, 29, 30 and 31 will come into force for the purpose of making rules;
  • section 20 will come into force for the purpose of giving directions or imposing requirements; and
  • section 35 will come into force for the purposes of introducing paragraphs 7, 8, 9, 16(b)(i), 17(b)(i), 19(2)(b)(i) and 19(3)(b)(i) of Schedule 3 to the Banking Reform Act as well as paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 in so far as it relates to the making of rules.
