The Regulation on wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) sets out an EU legal framework to tackle abusive practices affecting wholesale energy markets. It provides for the monitoring of wholesale energy markets by the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) in close cooperation with other relevant authorities.
Recently, the REMIT Comitology Committee voted on the draft REMIT implementing Acts to be adopted pursuant to Article 8 of REMIT. The draft implementing Acts provide that ACER, in order to facilitate reporting, shall draw up and publish a list of organised market places upon entry into force of the REMIT implementing Acts.
ACER has now issued a consultation paper which sets out the provision list of organised market places. The deadline for comments on the consultation paper is 11 December 2014.
