On 19 November 2018, the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) published a consultation paper concerning the onshoring of the EU regulatory technical standards under the Interchange Fee Regulation (CP18/3).

CP18/3 consults on the PSR’s proposals to amend the regulatory technical standards (RTS) adopted under Article 7 of the EU Regulation on interchange fees for card-based payment transactions.

The PSR’s approach in CP18/3 is not to revisit previous policy decisions and has only proposed amendments to address deficiencies resulting from the UK leaving the EU on 29 March 2019, in the event that no withdrawal agreement is concluded between the UK and the EU.

The deadline for responses to CP18/3 is 17 December 2018.
