The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has published a guidance consultation on the new requirement for companies to maintain a register of people with significant control (PSC register).
The guidance consultation covers:
- statutory guidance for companies on understanding the meaning of significant influence or control;
- statutory guidance for LLPs on understanding the meaning of significant influence or control;
- summary guidance for companies on the PSC requirements; and
- guidance for companies on the PSC requirements.
The deadline for comments on the guidance consultation was 11 January 2016. The PSC register was introduced by section 81 of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 and will come into force on 6 April 2016.
