The Presidency of the Council of the EU has published a note concerning the general approach to the proposed Regulation on European Long-term Investment Funds (ELTIF Regulation).
In the annex to the note is the latest compromise proposal which is now supported by all delegations. Against this background the Presidency of the Council of the EU recommends that the Permanent Representatives Committee:
- agree the general approach with regard to the draft Regulation set out in the annex; and
- invite the incoming Italian Presidency to start negotiations with the European Parliament on the basis of this general approach with a view to reaching an agreement at first reading.
