The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has published the latest issue of its newsletter ombudsman news (issue 114). This issue comprises of:

  • case studies concerning debt collection;
  • an interview with Caroline Mitchell, Lead Ombudsman; and
  • case studies on mobile phone insurance.

The newsletter also includes two questions and answers. The first explains how firms should deal with complaints they receive that they consider to be vexatious and frivolous (that is, where they have no merit). The second explains how the FOS approaches complaints relating to the monthly fee charged for packaged bank accounts.
