Charles Randell has been appointed as the new Chair of the FCA and the Payment Systems Regulator. Mr. Randell will take up the roles on 1 April 2018. He replaces John Griffith-Jones in both roles, whose departure on 31 March 2018 was announced last summer. Mr. Randell’s appointment is for a five year term.

Mr. Randell is currently an external member of the Prudential Regulation Committee at the Bank of England and a non-executive board member of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
