On 19 February 2019,  the Market Abuse (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 was published on legislation.gov.uk together with a draft explanatory memorandum.

The statutory instrument is made under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. It amends retained EU law relating to market abuse, including the EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), the tertiary legislation made under MAR, and the UK legislation which complements MAR, to ensure that the relevant legislation continues to operate effectively at the point at which the UK leaves the EU. The principal amendment is to provide that financial instruments admitted to trading or traded on UK venues continue to be within scope of regulation in the UK after the UK leaves the EU, in addition to continuing to include those admitted to trading or traded on EU venues.
