The Joint Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) has published its work programme for 2018. In 2018, the Joint Committee of the ESAs will give priority to cross-sectoral risks, consumer protection, anti-money laundering, financial conglomerates and accounting and audit.

Among other things the work programme notes the following outputs from the Joint Committee of the ESAs:

  • delivery of data or technical advice concerning the review of the PRIIPs Regulation;
  • updating the Joint Committee’s guidelines on money laundering and terrorist financing risk factors;
  • developing draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) specifying the criteria for establishing which arrangements under covered bonds or securitisations adequately mitigate counterparty credit risk; and
  • developing draft RTS specifying risk management procedures, procedures for counterparties and Member State national competent authorities applying exemptions, and criteria to be considered as a practical or legal impediment to the prompt transfer of own funds and repayment of liabilities between counterparties.
