HM Treasury has published the draft Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Ring-fencing Bodies, Core Activities, Excluded Activities and Prohibitions) (Amendment) Order 2016 (draft Order)  together with a draft explanatory memorandum.

The draft Order makes a number of technical amendments to the UK’s bank ring-fencing regime, which is due to come into force on 1 January 2019. The changes are being made to facilitate an effective and timely implementation of the regime. Specifically, the draft Order amends the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Ring-fenced Bodies and Core Activities) Order 2014 and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Excluded Activities and Prohibitions) Order 2014.
