HM Treasury and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) have announced an agreement between major high street banks that will inform existing and prospective customers of their fees, charges and benefits. Barclays, HSBC, Nationwide, RBS and Santander have all signed up to the initiative that will provide standardised current account data that can be used in comparison websites. This forms part of the banks’ improved approach in putting the needs of the customer first.
