The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has published its annual review for 2015/16.

Key figures in the annual review include:

  • 56% of new complaints to the FOS were about the sale of payment protection insurance – 188,712 complaints overall;
  • complaints about packaged bank accounts more than doubled while complaints about credit broking fell by more than half; and
  • the FOS resolved 438,802 complaints – almost 100,000 more than it received.
