On 20 March 2023, the FCA updated its webpage on notification and disclosure of net short positions.

The webpage has been updated to provide the following updates:

• Revised list of exempted shares (LES) available from 1 April 2023 – The FCA has undertaken a second review of the LES (as required under the UK Short Selling Regulation (SSR)) to include shares admitted to trading on UK trading venues in November and December 2022. As a result, a revised LES will be available on 1 April 2023 and will replace the existing list.
• SSR Review – Call for evidence – HM Treasury’s Call for Evidence on the UK Short Selling Regulation, which was part of the government’s wider programme to repeal and replace retained EU law in financial services, has now closed. The government will publish a response in due course.
