The FCA has updated its “latest news” webpage on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) with a reminder of what information alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) should provide on the variation of permission form should they wish their authorisation to take effect from 22 July 2014.

The FCA states that the required information is:

  • a copy of the rules or instruments of incorporation of the alternative investment funds (AIFs) the AIFM intends to manage (for all their AIFs, except Regulation 74 and 75 funds);
  • disclosures under rule 3.2.2 of the Investment Funds sourcebook for all the AIFMs’ AIFs, except Regulation 74 and 75 funds; and
  • confirmation that contractual arrangements are in place with all depositaries selected by the AIFMs.

To avoid any potential disruption to their business plans, AIFMs are requested the ensure that the information reaches the FCA by 20 June 2014.

The FCA urges AIFMs to review the information they have already sent to it and submit any outstanding information as soon as possible by e-mail to AIFMDAuthorisations@fca.org.uk.
