On 7 April 2022, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published Consultation Paper 22/7 ‘FCA regulated fees and levies: rates proposals for 2022/23’ (CP22/7).

CP22/7 is applicable to all FCA fee-payers and to any businesses considering applying for FCA authorisation or registration. The FCA has set out a table at the end of chapter 1 of CP22/7, which is intended to help firms identify which parts of CP22/7 apply to them. CP22/7 is part of the FCA’s annual cycle of fees consultation.

In CP22/7, the FCA consults on its periodic fees rates for the next financial year (1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023) and any proposed changes to application fees or other fees. It also consults on the Financial Ombudsman Service general levy, levies for the Money and Pension Service and illegal money-lending levies for the next financial year.

The deadline for responses to CP22/7 is 12 May 2022.

The FCA will consider the comments it receives on CP22/7 and publish rules in a Policy Statement in July 2022.
