On 20 December 2024, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued Policy Statement 24/19 ‘Enhancing the National Storage Mechanism’ (PS24/19).

In PS24/19 the FCA summarises the feedback it received to its earlier proposals to change the NSM’s data requirements for ‘regulated information’ and sets out final rules. It also sets out longer-term plans for the NSM. The new rules, which are set out in Appendix 1, will appear in the FCA Handbook on 3 November 2025, which is when they will come into force.
