Following decisions by fellow European competent authorities, Borsa Italiana and Spain’s CNMV, the FCA has notified a temporary ban on the short selling of a list of instruments (set out below), effective immediately on 13 March 2020 and in force until the end of the trading day on 13 March 2020.

The notification was made under Articles 23 (1) and 26 (4) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012. To see the full list of the instruments to which this restriction applies, please see the FCA’s notification.
