The FCA has published a letter that it has sent to the House of Commons’ Treasury Select Committee concerning its powers and perimeter.  The letter is framed around RBS Global Restructuring Group but also more broadly.

Among other things the letter discusses the FCA’s regulatory perimeter around:

  • embedded swaps;
  • crypto-currencies;
  • spot FX;
  • funeral plans;
  • investment consultants; and
  • unregulated mortgage purchasers.

The letter also discussing regulatory perimeter complexities relating to British Steel Pension Scheme.
