On 5 February 2019, the FCA issued a statement welcoming the statement published by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) on the use of UK data in ESMA databases and the performance of MIFID II calculations in the EU27 if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

By the end of February 2019, the FCA expects to set out its approach to using its temporary powers to operate MiFID II in the UK.
