The European Parliament has published a press release reporting that, at its plenary session, it voted to adopt the proposed Mortgage Credit Directive (MCD).
The European Commission has also published a press release in which Michel Barnier, European Commissioner for Internal Markets and Services, welcomes the Parliament’s adoption of the rules.
The Commission has also published a set of frequently asked questions (FAQs), which include information relating to tying practices, the conditions under which a credit intermediary can benefit from the passport and the benefits that the MCD will bring to consumers.
