On 12 July 2018, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) updated its Q&As on its temporary product intervention measures on the marketing, distribution or sale of contracts for differences (CFDs) and binary options to retail clients based on Article 40 of MiFIR. ESMA has updated the section on clients established outside the EU and non-EU nationals.
