The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published:

  • an updated version of its Q&As on the implementation of the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). The document includes a new Q&A on ongoing monitoring of collateral requirements; and
  • an updated version of its Q&As on the implementation of the Regulation on improving securities settlement and regulating central securities depositories (CSRD). This document includes three new Q&As covering: (i) the protection of securities of participants and those of their clients; (ii) the provision of banking-type ancillary services; and (iii) requirements for central securities depository links.

The aim of the Q&As is to promote common supervisory approaches and practices in the application of EMIR and the CSDR.
