The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published an updated version of its Q&As on the Regulation on improving securities settlement and regulating central securities depositories (CSDR). The update provides detailed answers regarding:

• relevant authorities;
• conduct of business rules;
• protection of securities; and
• prudential requirements.

The aim of the Q&As is to promote common supervisory approaches and practices in the application of CSDR as well as ensure that national competent authorities in their CSDR activities are converging along the lines of the responses adopted by ESMA.
