On 9 November 2018, there was published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJ) the following European Central Bank (ECB) documents on amending TARGET 2:
- Decision (EU) 2018/1625 of the European Central Bank of 8 October 2018 amending Decision ECB/2007/7 concerning the terms and conditions of TARGET2-ECB (ECB/2018/24) (the Decision). The Decision is amended to reflect the changes made on 3 August 2018 by the Governing Council to Guideline ECB/2012/27 following the introduction of the TARGET Instant Payment Settlement Service. The Decision entered into force on 10 November 2018 and will apply from 30 November 2018; and
- Guideline (EU) 2018/1626 of the European Central Bank of 3 August 2018 amending Guideline ECB/2012/27 on a Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer system (TARGET2) (ECB/2018/20) (the Guideline). The Guideline clarifies aspects of Guideline ECB/2012/27 following the implementation of the TARGET Instant Payment Settlement Service. National Central Banks of EU Member States must apply the Guideline from 30 November 2018.
