On 18 March 2022, the European Central Bank (ECB) published a non-binding guide on the notifications of securitisation transactions. The guide sets out the notification practices that significant institutions acting as originators or sponsors of a securitisation transaction are advised to follow in order to provide the ECB with information needed for the supervision of compliance with Articles 6 to 8 of the Securitisation Regulation as specified in Article 7 of that Regulation.

The ECB recommends that all significant institutions follow the guide in relation to all securitisation transactions originated after 1 April 2022. The guide specifies information that is expected to be submitted to the ECB, both at origination and during the life of securitisation transactions, including any significant events using a dedicated notification template.

Notifications of new transactions should be made no later than one month from the date of origination. The notification is laid out in four sections: key transactional information; information on securitised exposures; information on securitisation positions; and compliance with Articles 6 to 8 (see the Annex of the guide for further information).
