On 20 December 2023, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a final report updating its existing guidelines on the specification and disclosure of systemic importance indicators.

The guidelines define uniform requirements for disclosing the values used during the identification and scoring process of global systemically important institutions (G-SIIs), in line with internationally agreed standards developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the Financial Stability Board. The updates introduce additional changes and clarifications to the guidelines regarding indicators relevant for the identification process of G-SIIs and include in the annex the Basel reporting template as of end-2022.

The updated guidelines will be translated into the official EU languages and published on the EBA’s website. The deadline for Member State competent authorities to report whether they comply with the updated guidelines will be two months after the publication of the translations. The updated guidelines will apply not earlier than two months after the publication of the translations.
