The European Banking Authority (EBA) has announced that it will hold a public hearing on 3 July 2017 at 14:00 UK time to update all relevant stakeholders on the progress made so far on the possibility of developing a new prudential regime for MiFID investment firms..

In particular, the EBA will present the preliminary results of its data collection and the calibration of the underlying methodology. The public hearing follows up on the discussion paper published on 4 November 2016 (our blog is here) and aims at gathering additional feedback, which will be taken into account in finalising the EBA’s response to the European Commission’s call for advice (our blog is here). The EBA expects to submit its final advice in the course of September 2017.
