The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published a report which presents the first results of its review on the issuances of Additional Tier 1 capital instruments. The report highlights some existing clauses for future issuances that the EBA deems necessary to revise, as well as some clauses currently under consideration for future use, that the EBA recommends avoiding. In addition, while assessing some issuances, the EBA has identified a number of areas where further guidance might be necessary for a common interpretation of certain provisions in the Capital Requirements Regulation.
