The European Banking Authority has published a report on the potential implications for banks’ business models resulting from the collective implementation of the regulatory measures developed since the financial crisis, namely requirements resulting from the Capital Requirements Directive IV and Capital Requirements Regulation, European Market Infrastructure Regulation, Basel III leverage ratio, liquidity coverage ratio, net stable funding ratio, reforms in banking structures and resolution regimes.
The report is focused on the likely first-round effects of the regulations during the transition periods when the new rules have to be implemented, and should not be considered as an impact assessment of regulation in general.
