The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published final draft implementing and regulatory technical standards (ITS and RTS) related to liquidity requirements. The ITS and RTS are:

  • final draft ITS on currencies for which the justified demand for liquid assets exceeds their availability. In these ITS, the EBA lists the currencies with constraints on the availability of liquid assets pursuant to article 419(4) of the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR);
  • final draft RTS on derogations for eligible currencies. In these RTS, the EBA specifies, pursuant to article 419(5) of the CRR, the derogations referred to in article 419(2) of the CRR, including the conditions of their application; and
  • final draft ITS listing the currencies with an extremely narrow definition of central bank eligibility. These RTS have been drawn up pursuant to article 416(5) of the CRR which mandates the EBA to list the currencies with an extremely narrow definition of central bank eligibility.

The final ITS and RTS have been sent to the European Commission for their adoption as EU Regulations that will be applicable throughout the EU.
