The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published a letter that it has sent to the European Commission (the Commission) advising that its board of supervisors have been unable to agree on the draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) on conditions for capital requirements for mortgage exposures under the Capital Requirements Regulation. The letter mentions that the lack of agreement mainly stems from division on the interpretation of the EBA’s mandate. The letter states that the Commission should consider adopting the draft RTS by means of a delegated act without a draft from the EBA, as envisaged in Article 10(3) of Regulation (EU) No. 1093/2010.
