On 31 July 2018, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a final report containing draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) specifying the method, means and details of cooperation in the supervision of payment institutions operating on a cross-border basis as mandated under Article 29(6) of revised Payment Services Directive.

The draft RTS will be submitted to the European Commission for endorsement, followed by scrutiny in the European Parliament and the Council. They will then be published in the Official Journal of the European Union, after which they shall enter into force twenty days following their publication.
